choices

Well, I have some news. I quit dancing with my company. The pressure had just become too much, I wasn't having fun and I wasn't getting my school work done because of all the stress. I'm one of those people that just shuts down under stress, I just can't take it. So something had to change. There were many reasons, one being graduating on time, but there were other issues as well. I haven't quit dancing all together, I'm still taking two ballet classes and my lyrical class, all of which I couldn't bare to part with.
It's been really hard, but I feel like it's one of the best decisions I could have made, the new found freedom is just amazing. It's the most wonderful thing to not have to dance for anyone but yourself, to just dance because you love it and because of the joy it brings inside. So, that's what I'm doing, I'm dancing for the joy of it and because my feet won't let me stop.
Also, I will probably be rather scarce here, school has got me tied up on all ends, I even had to pack up my projects and craft supplies so that they wouldn't distract me. So, most of my posts will probably just be little writings or quotes, I hope you don't mind! I should be done with schoolwork in a month and hopefully back here, in full force, about two weeks after that. Thank you all for your support and sweet words, they mean so much to me.
Love, Clara

What I learn is that when you love something, do it. I love school and I love writing and I love blogging and I manage to do everything. Well, we would need a lot of determination, though, but I am sure you can!

I'm glad when you could dance for your happiness:)

Oh I understand your decision, as I had to make the same one almost a full year ago now when I gave up Ballet for University. I really miss it. How blessed you are to still have a few ballet classes! I'm looking forward to the day when I can take a class again.

thank you so so so much you all, you have no idea how much all of your encouragement and words mean to me, I feel so blessed to be in contact with you all.

Princess Camille: it's good to hear I'm not the only one, your understanding is beautiful. I hope you'll be able to take classes again soon, it's a wonderful, freeing, feeling to be able to dance with out the presure of teachers and their expectations and demands.

often when people ask me about ballet i tell people that ballet is like an addiction that i haven't quite been able to quit yet.
its a genuine love/hate relationship.
but at some point we all have to give up the 'addictive' part of it and let it become a hobby.....

You're both exactly right, It's probably one of the most difficult choices, but also one of the best I could have made. and as hard as it's been I don't reget it at all. But I also know that if it hadn't been for the urgency of certain things, I probably would never have made that decision.

Your school is keeping you busy, it's understandable. You are taking some out time and writing here, that is great. All the best and do come with all force after a month.
